The Magic School Bus Has a Heart

2:43 PM

When one student, Keesha, is running late, she falls down and gets a cut on her knee. As the magic school bus attempts to go to Keesha, it shrinks instead. The bus ends up going into Keesha's cut and in her blood. As they go through her blood, they learn about the different blood cells and how the heart has four different spaces. They end up in Keesha's heart, lungs and blood vessels. In the end, they are all able to safely get out of Keesha and celebrate her birthday party.

Opinion/Critique
I like how every page is filled with pictures and colors. There's also speech bubbles to show dialogue between the characters. I like how informational it is regarding biology. There's even one page that talks about the different kinds of cells in your blood.
Classroom application
This book can be used to teach about the functions of the heart, lungs and blood cells. It's an interesting and creative book to attach children's literature to a science lesson.
